Source Data Verification (SDV) in ClinicalDataS—verify electronic data against source documents using study configuration and the SDV Events worklist.

Overview

Source Data Verification (SDV) is the process of checking that data entered in the EDC matches source documents (for example, hospital records, lab reports, or other originals). In ClinicalDataS, SDV is delivered as an installed app on the study: you configure what must be verified and who is involved, then monitors and other authorized users work through items from the SDV Events screen (and related subject-level views).

This overview page focuses on SDV scope, entry points, and how SDV components connect. Detailed setup steps are documented in Configuration and detailed operational steps are documented in Events.

How it fits together

AreaPurpose
ConfigurationDefine SDV percentage or targeting rules, criteria (forms/fields), recipients, and options such as monitoring visit integration.
EventsStudy-level worklist of SDV-relevant data, usually grouped by study events; may also support alternate groupings such as View by CRF depending on your environment.

Changes in configuration affect what appears on Events and which fields require verification in subject records.

Opening SDV

  1. Sign in to your instance (for example https://test-2025.clinicaldatas.net).
  2. Open the study you work on.
  3. Under Installed Apps, choose SDV, then open Events for the worklist, or Setting / configuration for study setup (see Configuration for the exact URL pattern).

If SDV is missing or read-only, your role may not include SDV permissions—contact your study administrator.

SDV high-level flow

  1. Configure SDV scope and behavior (rules, options, recipients).
  2. Enter and maintain subject CRF data in the study.
  3. Work SDV items from Events views and complete verification activities.

Configuration controls what is visible and required during SDV execution.

Prerequisites

  • Study has SDV installed and enabled.
  • User role includes SDV permissions.
  • Study status allows SDV operations where required by your workflow.
  • Subject/event data exists to generate SDV workload.

Documentation

  • Configuration — setup options, field behavior, and save actions
  • Events — SDV worklist views, filtering, and execution workflow
