Overview
The Supply Manager / Warehouse Manager role group covers the operational management of investigational product (IP) inventory and distribution within a double-blind clinical trial. There are two sub-roles:
- Unblinded Supply Manager — full supply chain visibility including treatment arm assignment
- Warehouse Manager — blinded operations at country warehouse level
Unblinded Supply Manager
The Unblinded Supply Manager is typically a Sponsor or CRO representative responsible for the end-to-end IP supply chain. This role has access to treatment arm mapping and is therefore unblinded.
Responsibilities
- Create and approve shipments from Central Depot to Country Warehouse
- Create Delivery Orders from Country Warehouse to Clinical Research Sites
- Review and approve resupply requests submitted by Site Pharmacists
- View the full IP code list with treatment arm assignment
- Monitor inventory levels across all sites and warehouses
Key Restrictions
- Cannot access patient clinical data
- Cannot perform site-level dispense actions

Warehouse Manager
The Warehouse Manager is a blinded role assigned at the country warehouse level. They handle physical inventory operations without access to treatment arm information.
Responsibilities
- Receive and confirm inbound IP shipments from Central Depot
- Pick, pack, and dispatch IP per approved Delivery Orders to sites
- Report damaged, missing, or surplus stock
- Manage IP code inventory at the warehouse (code visibility only — no treatment arm)
Key Restrictions
- Completely blinded — cannot see treatment arm for any IP code
- Cannot create shipments independently; acts on approved Delivery Orders only
- Cannot access Central Depot or study-level supply chain management

Role Assignment
Both roles are assigned at the study level in Administrations → Users. Select the study in the Study/Site field, then choose the appropriate role.
